When starting out with a small website with a small amount of traffic we would always recommend using Shared Hosting. This allows you to concentrate on developing your website instead of maintaining a server or administering accounts. You can normally host multiple website's under a shared account but be aware these do not give you separate cPanel accounts for each website. If you would like a separate account I would recommend using a Reseller account.
Warning regarding Unlimited Webhosts: The past few years have seen a rise in hosts claiming to offer unlimited everything, I would say that these would be ok for small personal websites but for anything else they simply can not support. Hosts operating like this are heavily oversold and do not publish limits in which they will stop your account.

Flump shared hosting for small website's. The hosting provided by Flump was not once down when we used it, the support was also first class and also they have built a nice community. The hosting is expensive but you get what you pay for.
Pricing Overview:
Pros:
- Support calls are dealt with very quickly by technicians who do not need to pass it on to second level support or anything like that.
- The local community is active
- Daily Backups
- Anti Virus is used on all servers
- Hosted in the UK
- Has been in business for years
Cons:
- The Hosting Plans have not been updated in years and it shows. The plans are very expensive compared to other shared hosting providers as well as not providing much Webspace or Bandwidth
- Prices exclude VAT
Your Rating: Avg Rating: 54 Ratings (Avg 2.85)

MYQTH for General Website's. HostRoute offers a low priced hosting service with the basics. This is ideal for static websites and comes with plenty of space and bandwidth.
Pricing Overview:
Pros:
- High Uptime
- Support calls are generally dealt with quickly
- 100 Gigabytes of bandwidth per months is a good allocation for 4 quid a month and very few website's will exceed that amount
- Backed by a company that is over 9 years old
- Daily Backups
- Ruby on Rails is provided
Cons:
- I don't think 100GB of space is needed as the bandwidth allocation is only 100GB
- Appears MyQTH has two sites??? We signed up through the .co.uk website
Your Rating: Avg Rating: 55 Ratings (Avg 2.89)
